The food is really very good. Desi, authentic Gujarati Kathiyawadi food — served kindly, and quickly. The atmosphere is especially nice in the evening. Worth a visit.Utkarsh SaijaOn Google
The Garden Restaurant · Section One
The room, and the garden it opens on.
A tandoor line, three dining rooms, and a long stretch of string-lit outdoor seating. On S.P. Ring Road, every day from noon.
The Rooms · Layout
Three rooms, one garden.
Inside the pavilion — a peaked-roof dining hall with pendant lamps and long marble-topped tables — sits the everyday service. The room seats close to two hundred and is where the tandoor line runs quickest. It is where most first-timers eat.
Beyond it, a covered outdoor section under canopy — cooler than the pavilion in the shoulder months, cheerful with children and cousins. Past that, the open garden itself: an unroofed stretch of grass and string lights, our best seat in Ahmedabad's winter.
Together they take a room of six or a wedding of two hundred without breaking rhythm.
The Kitchen · What comes out
Kathiyawadi first, then the rest of the room.
The kitchen's spine is Kathiyawadi — the forward, slightly-rustic vegetarian cooking of the Saurashtra countryside. Sev tameta. Ringan no olo. Bajra rotlo with a spoon of white butter. Kadhi with pakoras.
Around it: a proper coal tandoor, a Punjabi butter-and-cream line for the cheese butter masala and the dal makhani, a rice-and-biryani station, and, for the young at table, a pizza oven that is not embarrassed of itself.
Everything is vegetarian. Everything is cooked to order. If a dish is off, we will tell you — we do not fake it.
